I honestly never thought Donald Trump would be re-elected. His life history was so demeaning of others and his non political activities I thought disqualified him in the eyes of many. My expectations were not realized. His actions since being elected have been simply crazy in my opinion. His aligning with Elon Musk along with his outlandish and some unqualified appointees to most important offices was beyond anything I might have anticipated. His deportation on immigrants to Guantanamo and other places doesn’t address our legitimate southern border concerns nor provide logical changes. Indiscriminately shutting down government offices and firing thousands of employees makes no sense to me. Eliminating our efforts for providing aid to those who need assistance both in our country and around the world is reprehensible. Replacing competent military officers with people trump sees as loyal to him not our country. Appointing people who are unqualified with the goal of destroying the offices to which they are appointed. Perhaps even worse the solid support of elected Republicans in approving these actions and not objecting to the disregard of the separation of powers. Trump‘s actions are both lacking in thought and simply cruel. In my opinion these actions border on insanity for any American president or any elected official in this country for that matter.
Have we reached the saturation point for administration as a skill? Are public administrators now replaced by automatons who are young with computer skills but fail to understand organizational functions and structure. Generally people seem constantly angry, how they drive and how they speak to other people. Time for us to change to a more thoughtful, a thinking world. Our leaders are not capable of the same but use fear and bullying to get people in line with their actions. If we acquiesce and accept that shame on us. This is America we can still speak up, raise our voices and ultimately vote them out before it’s too late.
Do we no longer have leaders we respect or believe in? Leaders who actually lead with a hope of making life better. I wonder if any of us would feel the loss of many of our current leaders? I am reminded of the eulogy for Bobby Kennedy when he was killed while seeking the presidential nomination for in the Democratic Party.
From Bobby Kennedy‘s eulogy by his brother Ted,
My brother need not be idealized or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life to be remembered simply as a good and decent man who saw wrong tried to right, suffering and tried to heal it saw war tried to stop it. Some men see things as they are and ask why I dream things that never work and say why not.
Do you believe you could honestly say this about many of our current leaders? We desperately need some good and decent leaders.
